Useful For
Stool eosinophils are most commonly seen in ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease, but are non specific most of the time. Peritoneal or pleural fluid eosinophils can be seen in response to intestinal parasites, but are most commonly seen in the rupture/perforation of a viscus. Hypereosinophilic syndrome and chronic myelogenous leukemia can lead to increased body fluid eosinophils.
