If sample cannot be delivered to the lab within 1 hour of collection suggest ordering Trich by NAAT or doing a physician performed microscopy.

Collection Method

  1. Collect discharge material with non-wooden shaft, sterile swab.
  2. Place swab in sterile container with 1 mL of sterile saline (just enough to cover swab).
  3. Transport to Lab immediately
