Notes
  1. A predominance of lymphocytes (i.e, >50%) suggests tuberculosis, carcinomatosis, etc. A neutrophil count of >250 cell/uL is quite sensitive for the diagnosis of spontaneous bacterial peritonitis.
  2. A reference RBC count is not well established in the literature.
