Additional Information/Important Notes

Result Clarification

Nonreactive: IgM antibodies to Hepatitis B Core were not detected. This does not exclude the possibility of prior exposure to, or infection with hepatitis. Levels of antibodies to hepatitis B core may be below the cut-off in early infection.
Reactive: IgM antibodies to Hepatitis B core detected. This is presumptive evidence of acute infection or acute attack in an individual with chronic hepatitis B infection. A Reactive hepatitis B core antibody does not rule out other hepatitis infections.
